Form April 21 2015 Google has been re-ranking all sites based on it’s new mobile friendly algorithm

Have you ever tapped on a site in the search results on your own mobile or tablet and found it impossible to read and backed out and tried the next in the list? Well, your customers could be too if your site is not mobile friendly. In fact, your site may not even rank anywhere like it used to thanks to the new features rolled out in how Google ranks it’s sites. This checks and goes beyond the following to make sure that your site:

  • Avoids software that is not common on mobile devices, like Flash
  • Uses text that is readable without zooming
  • Sizes content to the screen so users don’t have to scroll horizontally or zoom
  • Places links far enough apart so that the correct one can be easily tapped

Not sure if your site is mobile friendly? Take the test by going to Google’s mobile friendly test tool: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/
